In the Westminster system, there is remarkably little democratic scrutiny over the trade deals that will redefine our place in the world. There has also been an erosion of the devolution settlement for Scotland and Wales. Taken together with potential assault on human rights and civil liberties, Brexit could have a disastrous effect on our democracy.
